Reflexology for Women's Health

I offer Reflexology in London for a range of women's health concerns during and post pregnancy, peri-menopause and menopause and for symptomatic relief of period pain & PMS.

clinical reflexology to relieve period pain, hormonal imbalance & menopause symptoms

How can Reflexology help?

Reflexology can be used for a number of women's health concerns. It is proven effective for:

  • primary and secondary dysmenorrhea,
  • aiding fertility (especially when paired with nutrition)
  • pregnancy and post-natal discomfort & challenges.
  • Menopausal hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia, depression and anxiety.

My reflexology approach

Women have a life-long cyclicality that affects every aspect of their life: mood, weight, digestion, musculoskeletal pain, energy level and mental/physical performance.

Hormonal balance is key to living a full life, free from pain and health disturbances.  Our hormones fluctuate, and their balance is delicate; factors like diet, stress levels, and environmental toxins can disrupt this balance, and we need help restoring it.

Based on this knowledge, using the Ingham Method of Reflexology, I create a treatment plan to address all the organs and glands involved in imbalances.

Whatever your health concern, you’ll find a safe space where you’ll be listened to, cared for and treated to the best of my knowledge.

Reflexology for Period Pain

Reflexology has been clinically proven as a more effective treatment for severe dysmenorrhea than surgical alternatives.

It also helps with Premenstrual syndrome by alleviating the most common mood-related symptoms:

  • fatigue
  • bloating
  • irritability and mood swings
  • depression
  • crying & oversensitivity
  • breast tenderness
  • appetite changes and food cravings

For the best results, I recommend regular weekly reflexology sessions for the first 3 months, and we can agree on an ongoing treatment plan and frequency after that.

Reflexology for Menopause

Research carried out at the UK School of Complementary Health in Exeter shows a significant decrease in anxiety, depression, insomnia, hot flushes and night sweats in menopausal women receiving reflexology consistently in 4 months.

Reflexology for menopause works to restore overall physical and emotional balance and regulate hormonal fluctuations.

Reflexology is a safe, evidence-based therapy for those wanting to avoid hormone medications.

For the best results, I recommend regular weekly reflexology sessions for the first 3 months, and we can agree on an ongoing treatment plan and frequency after that.

Reflexology for Pregnancy

Pregnancy Reflexology can safely start in the first weeks of pregnancy and help you boost your health throughout gestation. It can alleviate and improve symptoms like:

  • nausea,
  • constipation,
  • heartburn,
  • swelling and
  • musculoskeletal pain.

Research shows that women who had reflexology during pregnancy experienced shorter labour times and less analgesic use.

In the post-natal phase reflexology helps you manage engorged breast, mastitis, body aches, sleep disturbances and mood changes.

N.B. Frequency of treatment depends on how your body reacts, and we can design a plan that suits your needs together.

Janet Camela, Reflexologist

I am Janet and I am a Clinical Reflexologist and massage therapist. I am passionate about the intricacies of Women's Health and how our hormonal system affects every area of our life.

I have trained with Hagar Basis at The Reflexology Academy in the original Ingham Method, and I regularly follow the latest industry seminars to keep up to date and bring you the best therapeutic potential of this modality.

Reflexology - how it works

Foot reflexology is the most popular form of reflexology practised in the UK, and it is based on the principle that reflex points on the feet correspond to every organ, gland and part of the body.

Our session will begin with a thorough health, diet and lifestyle consultation. Based on this, I will design a specific treatment plan for your health concerns that I will adapt as we understand your body's reaction.

The hands-on treatment starts with general relaxation techniques, followed by a precise thumb and finger walking technique aimed at applying pressure to reflex areas on the dorsal and plantar aspect of the foot.
